Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions students ask most about PrepSavvy: how the adaptive engine works, what is included, pricing, the free tier, and how practice questions are written and verified.

PrepSavvy

What is PrepSavvy?

PrepSavvy is an adaptive learning engine for the GMAT, GRE and ACT. It applies big-data analytics to learning: every answer you give retargets what the engine serves next. 10,000+ GMAT practice questions with a full explanation for every answer, 40 full-length exams, and diagnostics that retarget your study plan after every response.

Who built PrepSavvy?

PrepSavvy was founded by Mark Khoury, Chicago Booth MBA '25. Mark scored in the 99th percentile on the GMAT and is dedicated to ensuring other people can also benefit from the enrichment to his education and career that the MBA was able to afford him.

What exams does PrepSavvy cover?

PrepSavvy covers the GMAT Focus Edition, the GRE, and the ACT. The GMAT library has 10,000+ practice questions and 40 full-length exams. The GRE library has 2,000+ questions and 12 exams. The ACT library has 1,700+ questions and 10 exams.

How it works

How does the adaptive engine work?

Every question carries a structured taxonomy: section, topic, subtopic, difficulty and question type. In adaptive exams, the engine keeps a running estimate of your ability from your answers, one question at a time, and serves the next question at the difficulty that estimate calls for. The PrepSavvy Full Benchmark uses a fixed, balanced form so your attempts are comparable. Hardcore Mode exams serve our hardest possible questions so test day feels easy.

What does a score report include?

Score reports come on the official scales: 60 to 90 per GMAT section and 205 to 805 total, 130 to 170 per GRE measure, and 1 to 36 for the ACT. Each report includes a topic-by-difficulty heatmap, per-question pacing, and a ranked action plan that tells you what to study next.

Are PrepSavvy scores official GMAC or ETS scores?

No. PrepSavvy scores are PrepSavvy's own estimates, computed with the same structure the exam uses. They are not issued by GMAC, ETS, or ACT. No prep provider's score is an official one.

How are practice questions written and verified?

Questions are written by a generation pipeline, and every item clears solver QA before it can be served: independent solvers attempt the question, and questions with computable answers are additionally solved by a program. An item that does not clear solver QA does not reach your practice set.

Pricing and access

Is there a free tier?

Yes. The free tier includes 1 full-length practice exam (account lifetime, not daily) and 10 study questions per day. The exam is in PrepSavvy's web format, not minimalist or sim mode. Minimalist and exam-center modes are paid features. GRE accounts also get 100 GRE vocabulary flashcards free, and full GRE access includes 2,000+ GRE vocabulary flashcards.

How much does PrepSavvy cost?

Access is a one-time payment, never a subscription. GMAT and GRE access costs US$89 for 6 months or US$129 for 12 months. ACT access costs US$39 for 6 months or US$59 for 12 months. You can purchase access for multiple exams.

Why no monthly subscription?

We thought long and hard about pricing. A monthly subscription creates a misalignment between us and your study cycle: the longer you wait, the more we earn. That is the wrong incentive. We want you to finish, not to keep paying. A one-time payment means we win when you reach your target score, not when you delay. You pay once, get 6 or 12 months of access, and we focus on getting you out the door with the score you need.

Do I need a credit card to try it?

No. Create a free account and start practicing immediately. The free tier does not require a card.

Can I get a refund?

All sales are final. We do not offer refunds except where expressly required by applicable law. If you believe a legal exception applies to your purchase, contact support@prepsavvy.ai with your account details and the reason for your request.

Content and accuracy

Does PrepSavvy cover the current version of each exam?

Yes. PrepSavvy publishes content for the current version of each exam only. For the GMAT, that means the Focus Edition that replaced the classic version on February 1, 2024: no Analytical Writing Assessment, no standalone Integrated Reasoning, no Sentence Correction, and Data Sufficiency inside Data Insights. Retired content is labeled as retired, never served as current.

Are the practice questions real exam questions?

No. PrepSavvy practice questions are original works created by PrepSavvy. They do not contain actual exam questions from GMAC, ETS, or ACT. PrepSavvy is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any of these organizations.

How are exam facts sourced?

Every exam fact page on this site is sourced to the official page that states it: mba.com and GMAC for the GMAT, ETS for the GRE, and ACT, Inc. for the ACT. Each page lists its sources with the date they were checked. When a source changes, the page changes with it.
