Chicago Booth MBA Interview: Format, Questions & Tips

How the Chicago Booth Full-Time MBA interview works: invitation, format, interviewer, and the video simulation exercise.

Interview format

Chicago Booth grants interviews by invitation only, after evaluating a submitted application. Invited candidates receive scheduling instructions. Interviews are held virtually. Each candidate has one interview, conducted by a current student or other member of the Booth community, and all interviews receive equal weight regardless of who conducts them. An interview is required for admission but does not guarantee it.

Video simulation exercise

Invited candidates also complete a brief video simulation exercise on Booth's video platform, responding to a series of recorded questions that are added to the application. Booth shares details with the interview invitation.

After the interview

Decisions are posted in the Application Status section of the online application on the round notification dates: December 3, 2026 (Round 1), March 25, 2027 (Round 2), and May 20, 2027 (Round 3). Outcomes are admission, waitlist, or denial. Booth does not rank its waitlist and does not give feedback to waitlisted candidates; waitlisted candidates may send updated materials only if there have been new developments.
