UCLA Anderson MBA Interview: Format and What the School Says
The UCLA Anderson Full-Time MBA interview: invitation, blind format, length, interviewers, and topics, as described by the school.
Interview format
Interviews are conducted on an invitation basis only after submitted applications are reviewed, and an interview must be completed to be admitted. Interviews are held via Zoom or in person and last about 30 minutes. They are generally conducted by second-year MBA students trained on Anderson's evaluation metrics, and all interviews carry equal weight.
What to expect
Interviews are blind: the interviewer receives a copy of your resume in advance but does not see your application. Anderson states that questions generally cover topics already addressed in the application, such as reasons for getting an MBA, short-term and long-term career goals, fit with UCLA Anderson, and personal interests. The school assesses communication skills, social skills, and readiness for the program.
What the school advises
- Be prepared to walk your interviewer through your resume in 2 minutes or less.
- Come with questions for the interviewer.
- Business attire is appropriate; photo identification is checked.
- After the invitation, submit official test scores and academic records as described in the invitation.
After the interview
Applications are reread after the interview, interviewer comments are added, and the Admissions Committee then decides. Decision release dates for 2026-2027: Round 1 December 11, 2026; Round 2 March 26, 2027; Round 3 May 14, 2027.
