Ross School of Business GMAT Scores: Average GMAT, Range & Test Requirements
Test policy and Class of 2027 scores for the Michigan Ross Full-Time MBA: classic GMAT and GMAT Focus averages, GRE section averages, Executive Assessment, and the Statement of Quantitative Academic Readiness.
Score overview
Ross accepts the GMAT, GRE, or Executive Assessment, but a test score is not required. In lieu of a test score, any applicant can submit a Statement of Quantitative Academic Readiness; MCAT, LSAT, PCAT, DAT, or OAT scores can be submitted as part of that statement. Applicants submit either a test score or the statement, not both. Ross has no minimum test score. For the Class of 2027, the mean classic GMAT score (200-800 scale) was 731, with a middle 80% range of 700-770. The mean GMAT Focus score (205-805 scale) was 681, with a middle 80% range of 635-725.

Ross reports GRE section averages separately for the Class of 2027: Quant 163 (middle 80% 155-170) and Verbal 160 (middle 80% 154-166). The Executive Assessment is accepted for the Full-Time MBA. If you take a test more than once, Ross uses your highest total score and the corresponding section scores; it does not mix and match scores across test dates. Scores must be active at the time of application.
