Berkeley Haas MBA Interview: Format and Timing
How the Berkeley Haas full-time MBA interview works: invitation, format options and timing.
Interview format
Berkeley Haas interviews are by invitation only and are required for an offer of admission. Invitations are extended only after the initial review of the application. Haas offers two formats: a prerecorded video interview, or a live remote interview with a current student or an alum. Haas states that there is no difference between the review of prerecorded and live interviews; the same interview form is completed for both.
Invitations and scheduling
Interview invitations are sent by email starting about 4 weeks after the application deadline (the FAQ also gives approximately 4 to 6 weeks) and continue on a rolling basis. Invited applicants may complete a prerecorded interview at their earliest convenience or register for a scheduled live interview, which depends on student and alumni interviewer availability. Haas asks applicants not to contact the office to request an interview. Each candidate may interview only once in a given application cycle.
After the interview
Haas releases all decisions for a round on the same day. For the 2026-27 cycle, Round 1 decisions are released December 10, 2026, Round 2 decisions March 25, 2027, and Round 3 decisions May 6, 2027. The full-time MBA starts in August.
